 Schwab Partner Collaborations
The ASK program provides increased opportunities for Schwab partnership collaborations.  ASK has become a  third party provider to help  strengthen, expand and create effective career pathways and linkages. The current ebook may be used by Naviance, and Xello users.  The ebook has engaged the broader community in multiple ways including the IVY Tech CHOICES program, and JA Work & Career Readiness Certification Platform, and most recently the Region 8/ Northeast Indiana Works 3E grant(enroll, employ or enlist).

The geographical reach of the ASK Program continues to grow.  The ASK Curriculum is in 5 NEI counties, a 67% increase since, 2019-20.  Schwab funds efforts in nine school districts and 16 schools and or organizations to promote the value of college, career and life readiness efforts.  Approximately 6000 students, grades 6-12, completed a College and Career Conversation C3, primarily during the 4th quarter. 100% of all long standing grantees,(participating 5 years or more), report having necessary structures and strategies to ensure 100% of all students will have a C3 conversation.

  • We have just transitioned our ASK/C3 process to our business classes instead of embedding them in our ELA classrooms, but we are already seeing a benefit from the consistent implementation by one teacher 6-8. It was really neat for me to go to a class and see all of the work the students were doing around planning their futures.

  • Students discover their personality type via Myers-Brigg assessment.  (KNOW)
  • They learned about their types and had a chance to reflect on them.
  • Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton
  • Students presenting their C3s.  It is wonderful to see a culmination of their research and hard work.

  • I must note that I spend a considerable amount of time each spring reviewing students' schedules with them as we create their educational plans for the next year. During this time, it is not just "picking classes" but rather it is time examining who they are, how that connects to the courses they are choosing to take, how those courses/dual credits/credentials connect to a career, and how those deliberate choices can lead to saving time and money in their future endeavors

  • Student C3’s   It was neat to hear the student presentations as they did not have much public speaking experience. One teacher recorded the presentations for me to view.
Homestead High School
  • Our efforts during Period 5 were focused on academics as well as Pathways Box 2. Our students used the ASK Curriculum to guide their efforts toward a C3 presentation and conversation. All 2400 plus  students were expected to have a conversation with their 5th period teacher, counselor, or Administrator.
  • Every student on the planet having ONE TRUSTED ADULT is critical for so much - including the ASK process. "ASK me about my journey" is simply the catalyst to get the process moving. I believe that every high school student should be supported throughout their high school journey by ONE TRUSTED ADULT.

  • The ASK program helped graduating students with college and career paths.  (KNOW, CONNECT, SELECT) Because of ASK, we were able to identify the post-high school needs of several seniors and as a result were able to partner them with the appropriate individuals and resources to help them thrive in their respective areas.
